pptalk is a Windows desktop application that turns PowerPoint presentations into narrated videos. This policy explains what information we collect, how it is used, and what stays on your computer.

1. What Stays on Your Computer

Most of what you do in pptalk never leaves your machine:

• Your PowerPoint files and generated videos are processed locally.
• Subtitles are generated by a speech-recognition model that runs on your computer — no audio or text is sent to us.
• If you configure your own AI model (for example a local Ollama instance or your own API endpoint), your content is sent only to that endpoint, not to pptalk servers.

The one exception is voice generation: to synthesize speech, the script text for each slide is sent to our speech service. We use it only to generate the audio for you and do not store it for any other purpose.

2. Information We Collect

When you create a pptalk account, we collect:

• Account information: your email address and a password (stored as a hash).
• Script text: the narration text you submit for voice generation, used only to synthesize the audio.
• Usage information: speech generation time, used to track your monthly free credits.
• Basic device information: application version, used for update checks and support.

We do not collect your PowerPoint files or generated media.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To operate your account and track monthly usage credits.
• To send you important account notices (for example, changes to this policy).
• To improve the product and respond to support requests.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data with third parties only when:

• It is necessary to provide the service (for example, email delivery).
• Required by law or a valid legal request.

5. The pptalk Website

This website (pptalk.co) uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic. Google Analytics may set cookies on your browser. You can prevent this by clearing or blocking cookies in your browser settings.

6. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your account data. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is 100% secure.

7. Data Retention and Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. Deleting your account removes your account information and usage records. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@pptalk.co.

8. Children's Privacy

pptalk is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
